Today we enjoyed going to the Book Swap, Guessing the Mystery Reader and making reading dens with our buddies!

We’ve set up an experiment to look at how microorganisms interact with our food. Hypotheses ranged from the bread touched by sanitised hands will moulder first from the chemicals or the bread rubbed on iPads will get the most mouldy. We will have the results in a couple of weeks!

First day back and straight into discussions for our mini topic on democracy to prepare for house captain elections ❤️💛💚💙. We talked about what we already know and then discussed what questions we’d like answered in the topic.

P6 enjoyed their Canal walk with their buddies today. We did a scavenger hunt, spotted some swans and enjoyed the sunny weather! #OutdoorClassroomDay

We created our own athletics obstacle courses and then demonstrated them to everyone so they could try them up. Was lovely to see so much creativity as everyone had the same equipment but each course was so different! #OutdoorClassroomDay #curiouscreativecounity @Ratho_Primary

So proud of our P6 and P7 pupils who took part in the Saughton cross country today. Massive well done 👏🏽 🏆 🥇🎉

Inspired by Ceridwen Eccles we did a mini project looking at the work of William Morris. We painted flowers and then reflected them using an app to make a pattern to create wallpaper based on Morris’s work. Our printed wallpapers came today and we were so impressed with our work!

Everyone who went for House Captain should be so proud of themselves! It was a very difficult decision for the voters!

Lovely sunny day for Sports Day today! I had a very sleepy class for the last half hour of the day from all the effort they’d put in! An enjoyable but tiring afternoon! @Ratho_Primary

P4B started our week of exploring the Go Roman Food and Cookery handling box from Historic Environment Scotland. We examined all the objects and then sorted them based on if we thought they were for preparing or serving food. We can’t wait to find out more about them! #AntonieWall #WorldHeritage

Lots of measuring as P4B further explored the Go Roman Handling Box, learning what the objects were for and that they are replicas of objects found on the #AntonineWall. They were used by soldiers coming to Scotland to try and expand the Roman Empire. Historic Environment Scotland #WorldHeritage
