Honoured as always to be Chairman of Mirfield Branch RBL raising the #VE80 flag in the middle of town this morning at the start of a week of remembrance and reflection for those who served and gave their lives during WWII. Lest We Forget Royal British Legion Newton Newton Flags Ltd

Today, we proudly supported 30 WW2 veterans at #VEDAY80 celebrations in London, marking 80 years since the end of the conflict in Europe. Events included a military parade, flypast and a Tea Party at Buckingham Palace with HM The King and members of the The Royal Family.

There are free #VE80 events happening in Mirfield - courtesy of the town council. They represent a great opportunity for the community to come together and commemorate 80 years since victory in Europe.

Today’s tie. A full congregation gathered at St Mary's Church to mark Victory in Europe Day, celebrating peace and remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. Students from CHA proudly represented the academy community #VE80Day

80 years on from VE Day, we were proud to honour the Second World War generation at our event at the National Memorial Arboretum – where veterans came together for a Tea Party and Service of Remembrance. #VEDay80
