For all the problems cities have with housing affordability, at least they have a healthy tax base, jobs, and people who can earn a return building housing there. This is going to be so much worse in rural areas.

I'm sorry, you mean to tell me they just kinda built the SkyTrain footings in the parking zone? Like, you take out a parking spot every 25 feet and *boom* SkyTrain?

These were so successful at lowering rents that the city outlawed these within a few years over concerns from neighbors worried about parking (of course) and too much density. If the city council actually cared about affordable housing, they’d be clamoring to bring these back.

I’ll be in Cleveland next week for a couple days.

Obviously I’ll be going to the art museum and grabbing some old favorite food items, but do any of you have any recommendations on things to do while I’m in town?

I've been in Paris for just about 5 hours and I haven't slept in about a day and a half, but this place has the GDP/capita of South Carolina and it's putting every single American city to shame by not just being a series of parking lots and idling SUVs.
