Our Community Skips are touring #Brent this summer, where you can dispose of bulky waste for free and donate reusable items. They will be in #Harlesden and #KensalGreen this Sunday (11 August) at the junction of Buckingham Road and Nightingale Road. Pop along between 1pm & 3pm.

In Queen’s Park & Maida Vale we know diversity gives us strength. We will not accept racism, Islamophobia, or any form of hate. We stand with communities who are under attack and together we will show that those working for unity are stronger than those who seek to divide.

This evening, I have written a message to all Brent residents to reassure that Brent Council will support our community in the face of violent, racist disorder across the country.

We stand together, shoulder to shoulder with every community here in Brent - always for hope, never for hate.

Like the majority of us, I have watched in shock and horror as these attacks have unfolded over the past weeks. It’s vital that we name this violence for what it is - targeted racism and Islamophobia, not generalised protest.

Good to have Inspector Yu Zhang of Brent MPS | North West BCU visiting local mosques including in Willesden to provide reassurances to the community. Brent is wonderfully multicultural and one of the most diverse boroughs in the country. There is no place for Islamophobia, racism and hatred.
