The incredible Margot Benacerref passed away at the age of 97 yesterday.

Her 1959 film ARAYA, about life working the salt marshes of Venezuela, is truly one of the most beautiful films I have ever seen. It shared the International Critic Prize at Cannes with HIROSHIMA MON AMOUR.

We are devastated to hear that our good friend and Milestone director Margot Benacerraf has died. What an incredible life she had, and what a marvelous filmmaker.
