The Spirit of the Lord is the lifeblood of spiritual survival in this winding up scene through which we are living. To discipline ourselves to prioritize activities which invite the Spirit is a timeless challenge made more difficult by modern technology.

The Lord Jesus Christ is real. He is a glorified, resurrected being of perfect love. He becomes increasingly real to us as we live by His laws. Slowly but really, He is revealed to us…We come to know Him.

We all fail, yet the Lord purchased by His own blood and suffering the ability to bless us with love and light as we try even as we struggle. This draws us to Him in love. “We love Him because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19).

The U.S. military uses the SERE (Survive, Evade, Resist, Escape) Manual to help train pilots and other operators to survive behind enemy lines and “return with honor” (this phrase was used in my friend’s SERE school as a Navy pilot). The Book of Mormon is our SERE Manual.
