The wintry mix has transition to rain for most of us as of 5:15 this morning. Some freezing rain continues across far northern and western parts of the area as temperatures continue to climb. A dreary day with on and off showers brings our highs to the 40s and 50s today.

Gray and dreary today with temperatures ranging from the 50s and 60s in places to the 40s and 50s at the beach and the farther north you go of the stationary front parked on top of us. The chance of some scattered showers will be around from time to time...not a total washout.

Friday will be a very interesting weather day on Delmarva. We will be watching a backdoor cold front sneaking across Delmarva that will bring a wide range of temperatures. For some, the 40s is as warm as it gets...go 60 miles southwest...60 and 70s. Love a good backdoor front..

Dealing with a lot of fog and low cloud this morning across Delmarva. For many of us, it should lift and become a partly sunny day today. For others...especially farther north and out toward the beach...with a very light east wind...we may get stuck in the clouds all day long.

The sun determines who sees highs into the 60s and 70s today. More likely to happen across southern Delmarva. The farther north you go, the front keeps you in the clouds and with rain showers and highs in the 40s. At the beach, low cloud deck holds with cooler temperatures.

The battle of the wind will determine how warm things will get Friday. Our model says northeast wind wins and everyone will be in the 40s and 50s... As good Lee Corso would say....NOT SO FAST!!!! I think more of us will be warmer. S/O old school TWC graphic.

Waking up to a lot of low cloud and some fog across Delmarva. The back door cold front wins across most of the area as temperatures get knocked back into the 40s and 50s for highs...some of us on the Mid-shore may sneak up to 60 before the temperature falls in the afternoon.

Be aware that there is patchy, dense fog again across Delmarva. I want to use our Gateway Subaru camera to show you that this layer of fog is not that thick...so, once the sun comes out...it shouldn't take too long for the fog to lift this morning. Just be mindful friends.

Once the fog lifts, it turns into another warm and sunny day with temperatures reaching into the 60s and 70s. I've added this temperatures breakdown across regions to point out again that this offer is not valid for friends that live near the beach or the bays.

Another warm day is ahead of us once the patchy fog lifts this morning. We expect highs in the 70s and even some low 80s possible. We might even see some records fall on Delmarva today. Again, I need to stress this offer not valid right at the beach or along the bays today.

Notice between three different models at the same time frame (Wed 7PM) we have three very different solutions. A few stray storms could be possible just because of how unstable the air may become on Delmarva. A better chance of showers and storms arrives overnight / Thursday!

Another warm afternoon with highs up into the 70s and 80s for highs. The record in Salisbury today is 76 set back in 2000...I expect this one to fall today. The record in Georgetown is 77 set back in 2021...I expect this one to fall today. Storms possible starting tonight.

Here is the latest on one last warm day today and the chance for some rain and storms tonight into Thursday.

Temperatures are going to crash all day long from the 60s and 70s now to the 30s by 4-5pm and we will see the rain showers that overspread the area this morning transition to snow. It will be snowing, but not sticking because well it was 83 and 86 the last two days....

A much colder start this morning compared to yesterday...with temperatures below freezing right now. We climb up into the 40s and 50s for highs today with a mix of sun and clouds. The story is the wind...out of the south and gusting at times over 40+ mph.

Watching a cold front that will arrive with shower chances on Sunday night and Monday with a threat for severe weather on Monday evening and Monday night right ahead of the front. Something we will be monitoring for you throughout the weekend.
