Here's a chance - if you are quick - to have your donation doubled. CAfS does a great job in Cumbria, not just cutting carbon, but engaging hearts and minds.

And in a 1991 BBC Panorama programme we showed how PM John Major had been registered in 1968 at a house in Lambeth which the owner told me he'd never lived at - not even for one night. That qualified him to stand for Lambeth Council, and he duly won a seat. The Mail splash…

Cameron knows UK is breaking international law with arms sales to Isreal. If true and if the law still means anything in the UK then he has to go, right? There are incredibly good reasons for laws on arms sales. theguardian.com/world/2024/mar…

XR protests could not be further from hate marches. Some of the most loving protests imaginable, including treating the police with a respect I’ve seen officers find utterly disarming. Uncomfortable for some ministers though as XR does call for HONESTY. theguardian.com/world/2024/mar…

Great news that Labour plans to use Citizens' Assemblies - but the 'bypass Whitehall' framing is not useful - our research on climate shows that they can strengthen political decision-making and the work of civil servants, not bypass them.

Here is a heartenning example of the BBC doing its job by exposing political bullshit. This is earning the licence fee. Thank you Evan! Much more of this please. There is plenty to go at and it is critical in resetting standards and rescuing UK politics.

This episode of 17 Pioneers starts with me interviewed on the SDGs, food, ICT, business responses to climate, and the critical importance of choosing honest politicians and media. Thanks,17P, for asking good questions. Also Jo Fairley and John Elkington.

I’m sad to using BBC news less. Here is at least part of why they are so bad at calling out the routine dishonesty in government - which they should be all over as a top priority.

The UK Gov's decision to green-light the project at biomass power station is very bad news for the climate & means higher ⚡️ bills. Drax should be phased out instead. Here's the evidence Claire Coutinho MP ignored👇🧵

GWP* is a useful metric if used properly. We wrote this peice to highlight the dangers of misuse - exploited some in the meat industry.

What GWP* really tells us is to prioritise urgent methane cuts even more than is suggested by the standard GWP100.

The UK is self-sufficient in meat & dairy - production of which takes up a huge area of land - but only grows 50% of its veg.

If the NFU really cared about food security it’d call for a reduction in meat & dairy production & consumption and more focus on horticulture. Will it?

Precisely. It is absurd that the need to reduce fossil fuel has not been front and centre of at least the last 10 COPs. The emperor really has been strutting down the street naked for a long time now and it is interesting to see who is and who is not able to see it and say it.
