Great news that Labour plans to use Citizens' Assemblies - but the 'bypass Whitehall' framing is not useful - our research on climate shows that they can strengthen political decision-making and the work of civil servants, not bypass them.

In our latest publication, Rebecca Willis uses the example of #WoodhouseColliery to examine the use of scientific and expert evidence in #climate governance processes.
