I have ‘innovated’ a comfortingly boring hiking/hosteling/backpacking breakfast. Mix 500g red lentils & 500g white rice. Leave 125g to soak overnight. Bring to the boil and simmer for 5mins. Flavour with whatever is in the hostel kitchen or you can beg from restaurants. Thoughts?
