Hot off the press, well actually still on it! Check out our new paper on a shear zone that re-uses a fabric for a really really long time! Njord Univ. of Oslo Luca Menegon sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

I had a great time in Turin teaching orogenesis and applied structural #geology in the last two weeks! A lovely city in the cradle of the #Alps. Thanks rodo carosi for the kind hospitality, maybe next time in Norway to look at the #Caledonides 😊⛰️🔬

Hello European Geosciences Union! We are looking forward to seeing you again soon for another cool week of science and networking in the beautiful Vienna.

Another year of European Geosciences Union comes to a close. Our ECS showcased Njord’s strengths in understanding earth processes brilliantly. A week full of strengthening connections, meeting new people, and developing skills. Can’t wait for next year! #EGU24

Let’s go! Great start of the day/week with the FricFrac conference at Det Norske Videnskaps-Akademi with many international speakers! Looking forward to inspiring discussions. Njord Univ. of Oslo

It has been an incredibly inspiring and exciting June so far, discussing #earthquakes, #tectonics, #geophysics, #microstructures and other cool things with wonderful colleagues from around the world, first in the magnificent #Lofoten and then at Det Norske Videnskaps-Akademi, thanks everyone! 🤩⛰️🔬

The lower crust is strong and can generate earthquakes during continental collision. This happened 420 million years ago, when Baltica and Laurentia collided to form the mighty Scandinavian Caledonides. Watch Sascha Zertani telling us how it happened. 👇🎬🎥⛏️🔬⛰️

Thanks Deformation, Fluids, Tectonics Group #UniBO for the kind hospitality and for all the good discussions!

Ready to sail! On the way to #Corsica for exciting field work with the Deformation, Fluids, Tectonics Group #UniBO team!

Very good catch of the day doing #fieldwork on faults and shear zones in the subduction channel, where fluids were passing through rocks from the Earth’s mantle. Enjoying #geology and stunning sceneries with great crew of friends and colleagues from Università di Bologna
