Effective teachers know rules are important, but focus on relationships, routines, & expectations. If focus is on rules, you will spend most of time and energy enforcing them. But if you focus on relationships, routines, & expectations, you rarely have to defer back to rules

When I am asked my number one piece of advice for an administrator, it is simply to take care of your staff. A culture of care, support, appreciation, and encouragement is a culture when everyone can thrive. The teacher's work environment is the student's learning environment.

Highlights of my work week- Lunch with the sweetest students, celebrating the season with our staff 💙💚, and having Super Hugo (of the Charlotte Hornets) flip and dunk the ball over my head! #principallife

Whoever told leaders that adults don't need praise or recognition for a job well done never truly understood effective leadership or human nature. Recognition and appreciation are the keystones to building a motivated, loyal, and high-performing team!
