First book of 2023 was #Motherthing by @AinslieEm and WOW. Dark, angry, full of absolute love and deep grief--the best sort of horror. Highly recommend this one!

Listen: self-pub is expensive because *you* are footing the bill that publishers normally cover. That means *you* are essentially the publisher, and in order to compete with trad books, *you* will likely need to spend money. We can all sit here and cry about unfairness...
