I had curry &yogurt thrown all over me in Parliament Square while addressing a rally for the protection of human life from the beginning to the end. There was no question of anyone being arrested, let alone a jail term.God bless those who did it but I hope they don’t do it again.

I agree that most Syrians want to live in a moderate, tolerant and secular dispensation that is why though they may not have liked Assad, they feared the extremists much more. How can those who have sworn bai’a to IS and then Al Qaida be harbingers of a secular and plural Syria?

Wonderful choice of carols and poetry but I miss the prophecies from the Older Testament in our Bibles about the coming of the Messiah. This is how the New Testament writers understood them and the Church has done throughout the ages.

Very informative. The regime change seems to have had significant external support: how were HTS &Jolani so quickly reinvented? Why did the Syrian Army(said by a senior BBC journalist to be professional) suddenly fold? Why did Russia & Iran not put up more of a fight? All pre agreed?

Wonderful Christian man! BTW, it is his ‘interment’ meaning burial not ‘internment’ meaning imprisonment as the BBC’s rolling headlines say!

The Jesuits from Goa introduced Christianity to the Mughals but Eastern Christians of S India had tried to do so also. They have been a Christian presence in India since the beginning. They &other Eastern Christians in the ME &Africa give the lie to propaganda the faith is Western

Stephen glad you are at DWP. Something needs to be done re Job Centres like the one in Chatham:those using it report lack of facilities for clients such as toilets &drinking water. The lifts don’t work. The security staff keep people out, refusing entry to any not on benefits etc

The Anglican Communion came about in different ways:imperial expansion as in the American colonies,Canada, Australasia etc.Through evangelical mission in Asia,Africa &L America &Anglo Catholic mission aiming to stress the separation of Church & State. We need clarity in the debate

John Inge V moving!Of course,it is not just relationships with one another that makes us persons but with the very ground of our being. We can and should make the empirical arguments about pressure, coercion, palliative care etc but,in the end, there is a transcendent reference to personhood.

Wonderful humble man of God! In absolute numbers, it is not a ‘small church’ with the the third largest episcopal conference in the world and @30m Catholics, belonging to three rites, and growing! Cardinal Gracias steps down as Archbishop of Bombay catholicherald.co.uk/cardinal-graci…

Gavin:you are right. We should both search the Bible for our faith & find it there.one of the fruits of ARCIC was agreement on the Eucharist. What was put forward at Excel? Catholics and Protestants see the Eucharist and the Bible differently thecatholicherald.com/catholics-and-…

Christianity did not arrive in India with the Jesuits. The ancient churches have existed from the beginning. The Church has a duty to preach to all but God’s grace is not limited & may be experienced extraordinarily. laciviltacattolica.com/dogmatic-devel…

It isn’t just the BBC, Quangos like the HFEA also and will Catholics continue to find a place in Obs and Gyn, Geriatrics, LA Registries etc? Why BBC’s ‘Thought for the Day’ doesn’t want to hear from Catholics thecatholicherald.com/why-bbcs-thoug…

Easter is inextricably linked to the Passover in time and content.Christians cannot understand its events or the central sacrament of the Eucharist without understanding the Passover and how Jesus celebrates &transcends it as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

Journalists are claiming that if an Asian is elected, he will be the first Asian pope. He won’t be. The first Asian pope was, in fact, St Peter himself, who hailed from Palestine in Western Asia.

Not Judaea but N Galilee.’Palestine’was used by Egyptians & Assyrians.Herodotus seems to have used it in the 5C BC.The Greek term possibly being a play on the word for wrestlers, denoting Israel as one who ‘wrestled’ with God. In the Bible,it refers to the land of the Philistines.

Don’t squander your virginity for something that isn’t going to last. Keep it for someone you will cherish for a long time. We need to renew ways for young people to meet through family, friends, work and leisure. telegraph.co.uk/health-fitness…

Consequentialist arguments about coercion, risks to the vulnerable &the depressed etc have failed to convince our MPs.These are important but underlying them there must be belief in the sacredness of the person &their inalienable right to life.Without that, there are no red lines.
