#spoiler: #3D renderings with virtual light and #MSII filtered cuneiform tablets improve results for sign detection on renderings and photographs. Another small step towards a #Cuneiform #OCR. Also #HeiCuBeDa got #Cuneur annotations and becomes #OpenAccess #MaiCuBeDa.taset.

#OpenAccess Dissertation about 3D acquisition with UAVs. Christian Seitz is also an early adopter of GigaMesh. So there are nice applications also on larger objects in his thesis 👇👇🏻👇🏾

Scholars in Japan are also among our earliest international users. Very happy to see that they bring results to the 2023 European Association of Archaeologists conference 😊 👇👇🏻👇🏾

New types of #3D objects sometimes require new methods as presented in the CAA 2023 Amsterdam pre-print. These are existing outside of GigaMesh for now. However, looking carefully at GM's changelog one will notice the automatic orientation option, which works best on #lithic tools 😉😊

MSII filtering can be applied to #RTI/ #PTM datasets when converted to 3D. Great cooperation with LDA Sachsen-Anhalt and Fraunhofer IFF creating a curvature based 2D/3D benchmark dataset. 👇👇👇

For our German speaking colleagues - there is a Friday lunch time #webcast about #Datamanagement in #Archaeology. Wondering if #3D will be part of it as Martina is known to have worked with e.g. odeeg.acdh.oeaw.ac.at #FDM
