Today Air Cadets from across Merseyside Wing headed to the Cosford Air Show where they experienced spectacular displays from Chinook Helicopters to supersonic, 5th generation fighters like the F-35 alongside the RAF Museum showcasing aircraft from throughout aviation history.

Last weekend, members of the Wing Adventure Training Team organised and ran a Mountain Training Mountain Skills course for the staff of the Wing, and for which staff from 306 (Runcorn), 400 (Birkenhead) and 2375 (Neston) Squadrons were in attendance. Earlier this week, Veterans, Reserve and Cadet Forces joined with the Civic Party headed by the Lord Mayor of Chester, Councillor Sherin Akhtar, for the raising of the Armed Forces Day flag outside of Chester Town Hall to mark the start of Armed Forces Week.

As today is Reserves Day, Merseyside Wing would like to say a huge thank you to all of our Cadet Forces Adult Volunteers, who put in an enormous amount of time and effort to help provide the RAF Air Cadets of their Squadrons, & the Wing with an amazing range of activities.

Yesterday at the John Charles Centre for Sport in Leeds, Air Cadets from across North Region came for the Inter-Wing Athletics Competition. With some considerable effort shown plenty of medals were achieved and the Cadets were a credit to both their own Squadrons and to the Wing.

On Wednesday we visited 611 Woodvale ATC for their AFI. Impressive visit with a range of activities on show. I had a catchup with both Cadets & Staff & ask that they continue the good work. Merseyside Wing Commandant RAF Air Cadets RAF Air Cadets

Last weekend, Sector 2 ran through the wide range of experiences open to RAF Air Cadets with a multi-activity event at 969 (St, Helens) Sqn. This included a Bronze Radio Course, Cyber Skills, Youth First Aid, Bronze Leadership, Blue Fieldcraft and a Method of Instruction Course.

Yesterday at 273 (Wallasey) Sqn, 18 Cadets successfully completed a Bronze Leadership Course, with 2 Staff Instructors also qualifying to both deliver and assess at this level. A great outcome for the days efforts, with congratulations going to our newly qualified Staff & Cadets.

Four Royal Air Force Air Cadets from Merseyside Wing took part in the recent Musical Spectacular in London on Horse Guards Parade, supporting the Household Division, where the Cadets played within the Tri Service Pipes and Drums and the Massed Bands of the Army Cadet Force.

Great visit to 90 Sqn RAF Air Cadets Liverpool for their AFI. Operating from 2 sites with activities ranging from outdoor air rifle, archery, uniform prep, computer programming & orienteering. This weekend at 281 (Southport) Squadron, Merseyside Wing Cadets completed a Methods of Instruction Course designed to instruct Cadets in the proper way to conduct Cadet training and to become instructors, to allow them to deliver parts of the syllabus.
