Honoured to pay a courtesy call to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh of Viet Nam (Hanoi, 23/4) and discussed progress of bilateral relations, including on maritime boundaries delimitation, trade & investment, food security, also strengthening ASEAN cooperation.

Had a good meeting with Minister Fekitamoeloa Katoa 'Utoikamanu of Tonga (Bangkok, 22/4) to discuss cooperation in the Pacific region, inc’l through strengthening ASEAN-PIF partnership.

On the sidelines of United Nations ESCAP #CS80 (Bangkok, 22/4), Armida Alisjahbana and I discussed Indonesia-ESCAP collaboration, inc’l on Ocean-Based Climate Action, the convening of World Water Forum-10 to promote sustainable water management, and promoting ASEAN-ESCAP cooperation.

Delighted to meet FM Battsetseg Batmunkh of Mongolia (Bangkok, 22/4). Discussed plan to reopen Mongolian Embassy in Jakarta, & appreciate the invitation to the World’s Women Forum in Ulaanbataar, August 2024.

Exchanged messages with FM @MelanieJoly of Canada (19/4), while the G7 Foreign Ministers met in Italy. Underlined that continued efforts are needed to de-escalate the situation in Middle East

Accompanied President @Jokowi in receiving FM Wang Yi of China (18/4). Various bilateral issues were highlighted, inc’l efforts in promoting cooperation on trade, investments, food security, as well as support towards the Palestinian cause

Monday evening (15/4), I also communicated with HRVP Josep Borrell Fontelles of @eu_commission 🇪🇺 on the alarming situation in the Middle East and shared the views that nobody will benefit from escalation

I also communicated/exchanged messages with Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, UAE, Turkiye, the Netherlands and Germany. I encouraged all to use their influences to call for self restraint and de-escalate the situation
