There seems to be a correlation between who’s most active on social media and who people choose as the enemy. Why did the hate shift from Citadel to Virtu? Because Doug Cifu started tweeting. It’s evidence that people are just looking for someone to blame and want the validation.

People care more about validating themselves as a victim than they do actually solving their own problems. Even if an external source did something wrong, you can still control your own actions in many cases and avoid what made your own situation worse.

Knowing someone’s immigration status requires knowing their identity. Yet you ask people for identification, meaning you don’t know their identity when you approach them. Someone existing, looking a certain way, or having an accent is not enough for reasonable suspicion.
