A busy few days in the -- an international researcher, tours, presentations, other functions, & photographs. I've moved & reset a lot of library furniture. I'm exhausted.
It brings me great happiness, though, to see the library alive!

Yes, it's a beautiful view.
Yes, the garrison holiday flags are lovely.
Remember why the flags in VA are in mourning today.

Something to think about this April 9. If the U.S. had lost, there would be an international border north & south. The split might have encouraged border countries to usurp other sections of the Continental U.S., as shown in this 1864 map.
The divided, not united states.

Army Chief of Staff Gen. George C. Marshall being fingerprinted by Private William Burkey in 1941 at the War Department.
(Pre-Pearl Harbor, so most soldiers wore civilian clothes.)
Even Marshall had to stand in line.

Step up on soap box.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Louisiana legislature does not value librarians; they want to make them criminals. If you live in the state, PLEASE take action or you will lose public, school, and college library staff. Libraries will close.

I have been a lone arranger at the for 4 1/2 years. I learned how to juggle proficiently & realized that the work is never all done.
Being the entire library staff has never been a sustainable model, & now I'm getting PT help! Woohoo!

I stand on the shoulders of many at the ; the staff who came before. While I don't understand the why of some ways (pulling photos from collections to create one big photo collection), I am so grateful for their work.
