This month for the The Anxious Bench, I brought together a group of religion scholar colleagues to talk about one of my favorite shows on Netflix: Sweet Magnolias! #amrel

I love this show, not only because of its beguiling depiction of friendship & romance in a small town in the South, but also because its portrayal of religion, while utopian, is nevertheless enchanting. (Example: the show's best romantic relationship unfolds at a *VBS.* What?!)

Of course, religion scholars have lots to say about this show, and I'm grateful to have some of the sharpest minds in the field share their thoughts:
