Today was of those exhauting but exceedingly meaningful types of days where you can't quite say coherent sentences at the end of it, but you know people were cared for when they needed it most. If you had a similar day, thanks for taking the time to care for others.

Fascinating perspective on "Pressure ulcers"--Is skin injury always the result of pressure? Authors argue that like any organ, the skin can fail towards the end of life--and this is sometimes not preventable jamanetwork.com/journals/jamai…

Only after my training did I fully appreciate all the people who took time to teach me. I didn't realize they had emails to send, notes to write, research papers to submit, & patients waiting in the clinic. Instead, they took time to teach. What a gift.

My recent work on display ESCMID ESCMID Fungal Infection Study Group (EFISG) looked at rising fluconazole resistance in C. parapsilosis. Our reference lab Mayo Clinic Infectious Diseases has seen a (concerning!) rise in fluconazole resistance from ~5-10% to 20% in the past 3 years. Thanks Pascalis Vergidis MD, MSc for mentorship.
