It's #FindsFriday! Going back to 2022 this week. 2022T1082, a Roman gold finger ring with a nicolo (onyx) intaglio depicting a hippocampus. You can see the small hammer marks and workmanship that has gone into this ring along the hoop. 💍 LEIC-BEE982 finds.org.uk/database/artef…

Some amazing Iron Age materials coming up here - bits of chariots popping up all over Wales these days. Remember - without bodies like the Portable Antiquities Scheme team in Wales, there is a good chance materials like this would be lost to the public. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-…

It's #FindsFriday! I recently recorded this Middle Bronze Age dirk, found in the Melton district of Leicestershire. It is almost complete with a fragment of the hilt being damaged. It dates to c. 1700 - 1400 BC. LEIC-1D5786 finds.org.uk/database/artef…

Ooooh, we're nearly ready to reopen the museum, so you can see the updated Hallaton Helmet displays and we can't wait! It's been a long journey from local volunteers finding the Treasure to it being in Harborough Museum. Visit us from Thursday 21st #EnglishTourismWeek24

It's #FindsFriday! This beautiful Post-Medieval doll was recently found in North-West Leicestershire. It dates to the 16th century and is the most complete example recorded on the PAS database, I am used to recording fragments of these toys. LEIC-6FE3D3 finds.org.uk/database/artef…

I am currently having issues with taking and making calls on my work mobile. This will hopefully be sorted by the end of next week. In the mean time email is the best way to reach me! [email protected] LEIC-4C26BF finds.org.uk/database/artef…

It's #FindsFriday! I recently recorded this complete late Iron Age to early Roman strap fitting. It has retained most, if not all of it's red enamel and is stunning! LEIC-8D4418 finds.org.uk/database/artef…

It's #FindsFriday! This weeks has to go to this pesky token disguised as a jetton! Issued by William Hall between c.AD 1610 - 1635. The orb design mimics Nuremberg jettons issued during the same period. LEIC-DAF66D ⬇️⬇️ finds.org.uk/database/artef…
