I don’t tweet much, but I will say this unapologetically, as someone with high-risk friends and family working in Tusc Co Schools who can not retire: I hope they will listen to their teachers and amend their reopening plans prior to August 20. ***”when we” should be “when they”**

Anxiously waiting to hear tonight’s board meeting and praying that decisions will be made to keep every student, teacher, and family as safe as possible in an impossible situation.

Emma Dean approves Mike Daria’s stance on reopening so she can stay as safe as possible. 👍🏼 Whether the board votes yes or no, thank you for keeping your students’ and teachers’ families into consideration as we reopen. T🍏S Board of Ed

A very poor decision that puts educators and students at high risk. If you don’t meet the CDC guidelines in your classrooms, you can not reopen in-person in an ethical or safe way. Tusc Co Schools Alabama State Department of Education

26 million people work from home at least part time and we think it’s being savvy. 3 million Teachers have to do it during a pandemic and people want their pay cut since they think they’re not working. Teachers sure do put up with a lot of crap just to educate our youth.

There is no valid, ethical reason in the world why decision-makers should consider educators to be acceptable collateral for reopening schools.

Since returning in August, we have improved our library collection age by 4 YEARS!!! I should have taken a picture of all the books we added to the collection. In the meantime, these are the books that were weeded (front and back of carts)! There were some real gems from 1960. 😉

YES! Say this louder for the librarians, teachers and admins in the back! I wanted something new from R.L. Stine, not the old copy of “Around the World in 80 Days.” This is the main reason why I struggle to be a reader as an adult.
