Amiodarone is a Class 3 anti-anginal and anti-arrhythmic that prolongs Phase 3 of the cardiac action potential - the repolarisation phase. Has a long half life. Many potential side effects including thyroid dysfunction. TFTs require monitoring. #MedTweets

Something you don’t want to see in a hyperkalaemic patient! Sine waves are considered a pre-terminal event and VF cardiac arrest is likely to follow imminently

Yeah thanks Paddy. In total agreement. It does little to benefit the profession. We’re supporting a focus on prehospital education rather than scene tweeting #MedTweets

Do you wear green and travel in yellow vehicles? Do you enjoy multi-disciplinary learning and high-fidelity teaching? Could you show starry-eyed medical students the world of prehospital care? If so PCP needs you to mentor 2nd-5th year medical students! Get in contact! 🚑

Last week I got my first experience as a PCP mentor when a 3rd year student joined me for 2 shifts. A great opportunity to teach and build confidence in their knowledge/management of cases, whilst being challenged myself with their questions. An experience all should have!

Chris Press You tell that Junior Doc that we said she can do anything she damn well pleases and point us to the direction of the jerk that she can’t. Would love to invite him to follow my bunch for a day.

Dear Emergency Medicine colleagues, When this mess is over, you can all order as many absurd CT scans as you want and I won’t even read the indications before clicking accept. Keep up the amazing work. You are heroes.

This is a thread of COVID-19 CXR (all SARS-CoV-2 PCR+) from my hospital (Spain). I hope it could help. Case 1. 68yo female. Cough and fever.

1/ I've just tested positive for COVID-19. I'm an ED registrar in London who has treated many patients with COVID. I'm learning that it can present in a variety of ways. I thought it would be useful to post about my symptoms so far, in the interests of better understanding.

Reflections on today. 1. The #Nightingale hospital has some of the most effective medical leaders I’ve ever encountered. 2. The pace of activity in the @nhs is immense 3. Staff on the front line are not just doing their jobs and are indeed heroes. 4. Staff who aren’t on the 1/2

In my 7 days on one of our (now 12!) non ICU #COVID19 units, I admitted 58 patients for COVID rule out, of whom 50 tested positive. Two died (DNR), 2 went to hospice, and 5 went to the ICU. That is… not my typical gen med service week. Following, some clinical observations.

The lack of PPE is a national scandal. Multiple doctors dead. And nurses, that haven't yet been reported. We are trying to save people's lives, and yet we are not protected. We are furious. We are ashamed. We are not giving up. Yet we are forgotten. #COVIDー19 #nhs

This is a parody account but allow me one serious tweet. A story you may know but one I was shamefully unaware of until recently. #BlackLivesMatter
