The time to think and inquire are precious. Inquiring means to contemplate a problem without needing an immediate answer, to sit in the unknown long enough that different kinds of answers emerge. Important part of the process of discovery. nature.com/articles/d4158…

This is rich - one of the primary reasons scientists don't have a lot of time to think is that @nature and its ilk have promoted a culture where the primary goal of science is to produce bloated Nature papers that require lots of time and money, but little thought, to produce.

7/ Optical microscopy is uniquely suited to observe dynamics in living systems and, with the advent of lattice light sheet microscopy (LLSM), we can visualize subcellular dynamics noninvasively at high resolution across all four dimensions of space and time.

🚨 Excited to share our new preprint! tinyurl.com/yckfc9fb The bone marrow niche is crucial for HSC function. Decades of research have revealed its incredible complexity, with diverse cells, ECM, and molecules. But how can we measure the forces driving these interactions?🤔1/n

Expert's Dilemma: the more specialized you become, the less open you are to creative solutions from other fields. But the more you explore other fields, the more you risk losing credibility in your home field. Interdisciplinary work is still not really embraced by academia.
