This is beyond shameful. Solidarity with University of Glasgow Rector Ghassan Abu Sitta.

University of Glasgow management should condemn the German government and extend support to Dr Ghassan.

Hours after he was installed as Glasgow University Rector, Dr. Ghassan Abu-Sittah has been detained & denied entry to Germany - where was due to speak at a conference - at Berlin Airport.

This is scandalous & must be widely condemned.

What a team! Congratulations, Ghassan Abu Sitta.

7 years ago I was honoured to be voted in as Rector University of Glasgow, I walked in the footsteps of giants like the great Jimmy Reid, today it will be an honour to attend the installation of Palestinian Dr Ghassan Abu-Sittah as Rector- an act of solidarity with the people of #Gaza ❤️🇵🇸

Later today, Ghassan Abu Sitta will be installed as Glasgow University Rector in Bute Hall.

Worth remembering that last year Scottish Labour blocked Matt Kerr from standing in Glasgow South West, where he missed out being elected by 60 votes in 2017, because he wasn’t a “high quality candidate” — a threshold Wilma Brown apparently met.
