Methane from CO? Yes, indeed. 2nd sphere interaction in iron porphyrins allow selective 6e-/6H+ reduction of CO to CH4. Works with CO2 too!

ssNMR is an awesome tool to understand electronic structure and reactivity of molecular catalysts. During my sabbatical, I was lucky to team w/Copéret Group to show that you can use ss 15N NMR as a predictive tool for M=NR reactivity! Now out in J. Am. Chem. Soc.: doi.org/10.1021/jacs.3…
Congratulations to Dr. Kevin Rivera Cruz (Kevin Enrique Rivera Cruz, Ph.D.) for successfully defending your dissertation last week! Best of luck in your postdoctoral position with H.S. Shafaat at UCLA Chem & Biochem.
Today is #GivingBlueDay !💙💛
A gift to #MichiganChem provides crucial resources for innovative curriculum development, research projects, updated lab instrumentation for teaching and research, and more.

Hello, my University of Michigan familia; join us to celebrate Latinx Research Week. I am excited to share my most recently published work. #rePResentando
Check out our latest work in J. Am. Chem. Soc.! Maiko Askari and Jeremy Kallick used an oxophilic molecular electrocatalyst to reduce aqueous nitrate to ammonium with fast rates and high selectivity. Super excited about this emerging research area in our group! pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…
