Yesterday we welcomed our 2026 Year 7 cohort for Orientation Day, filling the campus with new faces, school colours and lots of excitement. The boys explored Mazenod through science, sport, music, library, and the Amazing Race, getting to know each other and their new school.

Mazenod students spent three days immersed in faith, music and community at the Australian Catholic Youth Festival, joining thousands of young people from across the country to connect, pray and celebrate together. A joyful and inspiring experience of faith in action.

Proud to see Mazenod graduate Chris Boey featured in the Herald Sun. Chris achieved an outstanding ATAR of 99.30, placing him in the top 1% statewide. A cellist and former Chess Captain, he now hopes to pursue biomedicine or medicine. heraldsun.com.au/education/scho…

Last week, Mazenod proudly hosted our Oblate brother schools for three days of competitive cricket and shared tradition. Fielding our youngest squad ever, the VICS rebounded from Day 1 to reach the final, where Iona again claimed the Cup.

A strong national showing for Mazenod at the 2025 Australian Volleyball Schools Cup on the Gold Coast last week. Highlights included gold for Year 8 Honours, silver for Year 7 Division 1 and Year 8 Division 2, and bronze for Year 9 Honours.

A memorable first step into secondary school.Our new Year 7 students began their Mazenod journey on Friday, arriving with families, meeting new classmates and settling into life at the College. We’re excited to have them with us.

Congratulations to Sam Boyle (MOC2025) on being selected for Top Class Drama as part of the VCE Season of Excellence 2026. Sam will perform his 2025 solo at the Melbourne Recital Centre on 24/03 and has also been invited to join the regional Top Class tour in Traralgon on 23/04.

A reassuring start to secondary school for our Year 7 students, supported by their Year 11 Peer Support leaders. Through weekly Friday Pastoral sessions, mentors are helping Year 7s find their feet, from orientation walks to practical one-to-one support as they settle in.

Congratulations to Jai (Year 10), crowned the Mulgrave Country Club Novice Singles Champion. After four preliminary wins to reach Sunday’s decider, Jai defeated a Division One opponent 20–9 in just 14 ends, with the final played in front of a strong crowd.

Yesterday our VET Christian Ministry & Theology students volunteered with Our Village, supporting families experiencing hardship. From restoring prams and car seats to preparing care packs for babies and carers, their work will directly support children in their earliest years.

Over 200 track events. One champion House. Chisholm secured a third consecutive Athletics Carnival title, joining an elite group of Houses to claim three or more in a row. Congratulations to Gavin (Year 11), our Mazenod Gift winner and Fastest ‘Nodder’.
