Have you ever heard of a dermoid cyst? A dermoid cyst is a cyst that is composed of hair, skin, or teeth. These cysts are more common between ages of 20 and 40. Rarely, these cysts are cancerous.

Want to get pregnant with PCOS? There are medications to improve ovulation like letrozole. Ask our @mayoclinicrei team.

PCOS is associated with increased acne and coarse hair growth on the body often due to elevated testosterone levels. There is treatment to improve this if bothersome.

PCOS is associated with an increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Getting regular blood sugar and cholesterol testing is essential.

Why am I having abnormal bleeding? There are many reasons abnormal bleeding can occur. Talk to your gynecologic provider about your abnormal bleeding to help determine if further evaluation and what treatment options might work best for you. #abnormalbleeding #irregularperiods

If you are experiencing abnormal uterine bleeding, your healthcare provider may refer you for a hysteroscopy to look inside the uterus. It is a procedure performed in the clinic and can be uncomfortable, but usually takes only between 3-5 minutes to complete.

Obesity is diagnosed when a person's body mass index is greater than 30. The more adipose tissue (fat), the more estrogen you make. This can cause abnormal uterine bleeding and obesity is a risk factor for endometrial cancer. Reach out to your provider if experiencing.

Genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM) is a collection of signs & symptoms associated with a decrease in estrogen & other sex steroids. Characteristics of GSM include vaginal and vulvar dryness, burning, itching, and others. If experiencing, reach out to your provider.

Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines are known to reduce the risk of cervical cancer but also decreases the chance of other HPV associated cancers including oral, anal, vaginal & vulvar. Vaccination past age 26 is generally not indicated but should be discussed with your provider.
