We have had a lovely first few days in Nursery. We have been singing, dancing, playing musical instruments, couting, running, balancing, biking, role playing, painting, drawing, and best of all, making friends!

In Nursery this week we are learning about malleable materials. We have followed a recipe to make playdoh. We measure out the ingredients and take turns stirring the mixture. We talk about what could make; we can mould, roll, press and squeeze the doh.

This afternoon, Year 2 came in to lily pads on the floor of our classroom, water on the tables, frog footprints and chairs pushed over! We investigated what happened. All to introduce our new book – Tuesday by David Wiesner.

In Nursery this week we have been learning about our construction area. We have talked about all the different materials we can use such as Duplo and wooden blocks and we have made some amazing towers, houses, castles and dinosaurs!🏗️🏡🏰🧱

In Doh Disco we are exploring colour mixing. First we think about what colours we might be able to make. Next, we take 2 small balls of playdoh and mix them together until they make a new colour. We check to see if the colour we suggested was correct.

Year 3 have really been enjoying taking the opportunity to read a book in one of our calm areas. 📚

Year 3 began their European Geography topic by tasting French food and listening to French music. We could really imagine what it would be like to sit in a café in France! 🇫🇷🥐🥖🧀🇫🇷

This week, Reception have learnt all about themselves! We have spoken about what makes them incredible and features of a good friend! We have used our team work skills and explored the areas together, whilst having lots of fun in our new classroom!⭐️

Reception have had a fantastic start to the year over the last two weeks! We have listened to traditional tales, made maps and explored books in the reading corner! We have loved seeing old friends and making some new ones too!📚💙

This week in Nursery we have been learning about our small world areas. We have small world toys set up inside and outside. We use our creativity and imaginations to play with the fairies, car tracks and small world village. We act out being characters and share the resources.

This week in Nursery we have been learning about our roleplay area. We are pretending to be teachers, the children wore lanyards, read stories, took the register and gave out certificates. In our home corner we have lots of dressing up clothes for pretend play.
