Steal and layup at the buzzer by Mateo Zaporteza gives Mountainside Basketball the 62-60 win.
Hero of the night for Mountainside Basketball was Mateo Zaporteza. The streal and buzzer beating layup for the win but also a huge three in the closing minutes as well. He finished the night with 7 points 3 rebounds, and 3 steals.
Tough buckets tonight from Jkobi Nicholson. The Mountainside Basketball junior earned every point he got going to the hoop, drawing and finishing through contact. A team high 16 points in the Mavs win at their home tournament.
As always, hard nosed play and intensity from peytonreyes tonight. The Mountainside Basketball senior guard used his quickness to nab 4 steals which led to fast break points, and also hit some jumpers. 11 points and 4 assists by our count in the win.
It took a little while for him to get going but Eli Vizconde found his groove in the second half. Two big threes by the junior guard helped give Mountainside Basketball momentum and get them in position to pull off the exciting last second win. 12 points on the night.
Final: Mountainside Basketball 53, PacerVarsityBball 35 Mateo Zaporteza led the Mavs with 13 points. Eli Vizconde scored 11 points and peytonreyes and Rogen Brown added 9 points each. Valentin Faucher led the Pacers with 12 points.
Final: Mountainside Basketball 68, Centennial 47 Eli Vizconde led the Mavs with 19 points. Rogen Brown scored 13 points (9-10 FT), peytonreyes had 11 and Ryder Eck added 10. Sincere Powe led the Eagles with 18 points. Aazzee Breaux scored 10 points.
Final: Mountainside Basketball 68, PacerVarsityBball 54 Les Schwab Invitational Consolation peytonreyes led the Mavs with 19 points. Eli Vizconde scored 13 points, Jkobi Nicholson had 12, and Ryder Eck added 10. Logan Baertsch led the Pacers with 18 points. Sean McCarty added 9.
Final: Mountainside Basketball 58, Summit High Hoops 57 Mateo Zaporteza with the 3 at the buzzer for the win. Eli Vizconde led the Mavs with 15 points. peytonreyes had 9 points. Zaporteza and Jkobi Nicholson had 8 each. Will Manfredi led the Storm with 19 points. Ryder Grieb had 10.
