God always means to be God. He bestows spiritual blessings when he pleases, how he pleases, and where he pleases. We may labor, we may pray, we may “plant,” but we must not dictate. — Theodore Cuyler (1822–1909)

The 19th-century Anglican J. C. Ryle was a remarkably gifted Bible teacher. His journey through the Gospels is now available in modernized English. Amazing resource from @10ofThose. us.10ofthose.com/product/978178…

It is a long time since I preached a sermon I was satisfied with. You cannot hear my groanings when I go home, Sunday after Sunday, and wish that I could learn to preach somehow or other; wish that I could discover the way to touch your hearts and your consciences. — Spurgeon

Do you struggle communicating the Gospel—the best news in all the world—to those who don't yet believe? I do. I recently came across a helpful tool. It's by Speak Life and Glen Scrivener, one of the most gifted evangelists I've heard. It's a course that a friend can take

I recently finished a two-year journey with River City Baptist Church through Mark’s Gospel. What a ride! To my surprise, I think it became my favorite Gospel. Here were the most helpful resources. James Edwards’s commentary is one of the best I’ve ever read. rivercityrichmond.org/mark

I've said it before but too often 'contextualization' is seen as a method of minimizing or mitigating the offense, softening the 'punch' of the Gospel. Often, it is a matter of ensuring the punch is landing in the right place.
