Watched the end of the Knicks game with a friend that was new to hoop

Raved about Hartenstein/MRob and how great they’ve been this series and he was confused after looking up their scoring numbers

Immediately did a 180 after watching them make the biggest plays of the game

The Clippers were one of the best teams in the NBA attacking zone defenses in the regular season: 4th in PPP, 7th in zone frequency faced

When facing a 2-3, they like to screen the 'inside' of the shell. This creates gaps that they'll exploit with their shooting/slashing talent

Quick thread on a fascinating tactical battle in the second half last night in how Philly was guarding Brunson/5 pick and rolls:

Fun fact: A'ja's 3.7 drives per game ranked #1 on her team last season despite being a big

Always blown away by her quickness and ballhandling whenever I watch her

Las Vegas Aces: Zoom SLOB

Quick-hitter to get A'ja Wilson downhill. Always cool to see bigs in the actions usually run for perimeter players

Dallas Wings: Iverson Elbow Punch

Creates space for a post-up after establishing spacing. Incredible entry pass from Natasha Howard

Didn't end up getting anything out of it but I like the idea from Orlando to take advantage of the post double

Paint help comes from the opposite corner so corner man (Fultz) flashes middle and creates a high -> low opportunity. Ended up taking a jumper instead

Film Breakdown 🔊👆

Jalen Suggs might just be the best perimeter defender in the NBA and his ability to get through screens on/off ball is a major reason

Broke down a play where Suggs blew up Zoom Action by himself. No switch/hedge needed:

Excited to build out this roster at Cal Poly...

- We will play fast 🏇
- We will develop our players 💪
- We will have a first class culture 🌴

... if you can shoot, pass, dribble, defend and get it done in the classroom, let us know.

Herb Jones in the regular season: 96th %tile Transition Frequency, 84th %tile Transition PPP

Ballhandling can have immense value even if you're not a great scorer because it unlocks opportunities against unset defenses in transition

SB Nation sent me to the WNBA Draft to write about Caitlin Clark, or more accurately, The Caitlin Clark Phenomenon. This is what I found:

The Knicks finished as:

- the 2 seed
- a 50-win team
- a top 7 offense

with Julius Randle missing 44% of the season

Jalen Brunson is my MVP pick
