At the #MaterHospital, we endeavour to discuss all cases of advanced cancer within a multidisciplinary team which includes surgical expertise. As a result, our teams can identify patients who are suitable candidates for surgery, giving those patients the best chance of survival.

Expected survival after surgery in selected patients with advanced cancer is around 50% at 5 years; nationally the survival rate for metastatic cancer is 10%. We want to do better for those who are suitable for surgery and who want to undergo all the treatment that it entails.
