🦋Well done to Elle, for putting together a palliative care box for D3 🦋 Elle is one of our wonderful Newly Qualified Nurses, who requested to be a palliative care link for the ward due to her passion for the role ❤️

This week we welcomed our first group of student nurses. Dr Vera, the therapy dog made them feel very welcome 🐶

This week we welcome our new charge nurse, Mark 🤩. Mark brings a lot of experience in cardiac with a particular background in heart failure, having most recently worked in ward D2 (heart failure unit) 🫀

🌟🫀Today marks 6 months of D3 Cardiac 🌟🫀 We are incredibly proud of the team we have grown and the ward we have developed together. Thank you to all who have supported D3. Here’s to the next 6 months and the further growth and development of our service

Another huge thank you today to Rachel who kindly seconded to D3 from UHS Coronary Care Unit to help us set up as a new ward. Rachel has been such a huge support to the team and we will really miss her 🫀🤗

We are very excited for tonight’s BBC Two documentary episode, Surgeons: At the Edge of Life with one of our Consultant Cardiac surgeons, Mr Modi. We are all very proud to be a part of this cardiac speciality 🫀

We are passionate about developing all of our staff on D3! Today we had a HCA simulation themed study day. Topics covered: 🫀chest drains and fluid balance 🫀pacing boxes 🫀basic arrhythmias 🫀communication Southampton Sim
