Knowledgeable, hardworking hari farmers who've picked cotton and chilli all their lives - asking for a bag of flour and living in a tent - is the impoverishment of politics. Their wisdom should inform climate change policy instead of their pictures adorning walls at the UN.

In Dadu, 2 months after the rains came. There is water as far as the eye can see, boats alongside. Thousands without shelter, disease running riot. Virtually no governmental welfare to speak of. None of this is ‘natural’. Call it what it is: class warfare & colonial statecraft.

If we don’t reassess the role played by mega infrastructure development projects in accelerating climate events, the scale of destruction will increase with each monsoon. #LBOD mismanagement by the World Bank and Govt of Sindh needs urgent attention.
