Why does someone who ostensibly has the perfect life suffer from deep depression?

So life keeps throwing obstacles in my path, but I'm still hangin in there, writing my first novel. Apart from the obvious, what are the commonest obstacles writers find blocking their path?

The 'world's' reaction to a drone strike. the biggest reason to fear is that it seems to be run by children these days.

Researching bail laws for my book. Didn't realize that even serial murder suspects can be baild. This wouldn't have happend in medieval times before the presumption of innocence became est'd, until recently when we started to move away from it again.

Has anyone written a good book lately about, or at least prominently featuring, an assassin? My preference is for indie authors, but any suggestions would be welcome.

I was detaind and handcuffd by the police for more than an hour the other night for breaking into my own home. Typical London neighbourly vigilance on display. It's only just occurd to me that at no point was I arrested. I didn't even know that was legal.
