Good Friday started with a Russian ballistic missile attack on Kharkiv using cluster munitions - killing one, injuring at least 60. And a drone attack on Sumy that killed one person and destroyed a bakery, baking traditional Easter ‘Paska’ bread. Russia’s cruelty knows no bounds.

We are working at pace with US, Ukraine and European allies to end the war and secure a just and lasting peace, with senior official talks in London today. Valuable meeting Andrii Sybiha 🇺🇦 and Rustem Umerov with John Healey at this critical moment for our security.

We condemn Russia’s latest vicious attacks on Kyiv and across Ukraine, killing and injuring dozens of civilians. While Ukrainian ministers were in London working towards peace, Putin’s Russia was attacking the Ukrainian people. These are not the actions of a man of peace.

Good to see President Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський in Rome. We discussed positive progress made in recent days to secure a just and lasting peace in Ukraine. We must maintain the momentum.

I had a great afternoon at Downing Street on Friday with British schools that have joined the #UKUkraineSchools twinning initiative. It’s run by British Council under our #100YearPartnership. Students explored Ukrainian traditions and wrote cards to their Ukrainian friends 🇬🇧🇺🇦🎓

Another night spent listening to Ukraine’s mobile fire teams battling Russian drones in the skies above Kyiv. And another morning bringing grim news of those killed and injured (including children) in last night’s attack. Russia is relentlessly pursuing war not peace.

Russia’s drone attack on a civilian bus in Sumy, killing 9, is yet another sign that Putin continues to avoid peace. There must be an immediate ceasefire

Russia targeted Ukraine again last night – with 14 missiles and hundreds of drones across the country. Another night of terror for Ukrainian civilians, with yet more injured and more homes destroyed. These are not the actions of a country seeking peace.

Russia’s indiscriminate attack on Kyiv and other cities is an appalling reminder that it is relentlessly pursuing its war, while Ukraine and its partners seek a just & lasting peace. My condolences to all those who lost their loved ones. Russia must agree to a ceasefire now.

Conflict-related sexual violence is among the most horrific crimes Russia commits in its war against Ukraine. The UK applauds and supports the Ukrainian prosecutors and civil society who work tirelessly to investigate these crimes and support survivors. #OneVoiceAgainstCRSV
