Anyone read anything really good recently? A proper page turner! Off on holiday next week with nothing much planned (one round of golf obvs) but will have plenty of time to lounge around and read! Any recommendations????

I appreciate Marcus Rashford has done some good in the world but not sure he’s at the same level with everyone else here!

Thoroughly enjoyable few days at the Hotel Chocolat hotel in St Lucia where we got to make our own bar of chocolate directly from the cocoa pod and we were able to officially find out that yes, chocolate should be stored in the fridge and eaten when cold!!!

I’d recommend visiting especially for this view but beware, there is no air con! All the rooms are open air and whilst there are fans, it’s very hot in the rooms until late at night. The open air rooms also bring lots of wildlife into the rooms too!

The staff and the food are exceptional. Most of the food has cocoa in some form which at first sounds weird but it’s mostly subtle. The desserts are, as you’d expect, sensational!

It’s just like being back at home 🌧️ ☔️ ⛈️

A rather special day of golf today Cabot Saint Lucia! Not really sure I have the words to describe the course, the views, the whole experience and unfortunately the pictures don’t do it justice. Greens were like glass too. Big thanks to Ken my caddy. He made my day! What a guy!

Up in St Andrews for the R3 Annual Conference and very happy to see haggis being served for breakfast! Not happy that the sausages aren’t square though!

Insolvency Service investigations continue to rise and I don’t see them slowing down soon! Of all the case types we deal with, these are perhaps one of the most important for a director to take advice early on as often the initial correspondence shapes the whole investigation!

Ran the Chorley 10K today. I am now broken. My official race time hasn’t appeared on the website (everyone else’s has) which is disappointing so having to go with the Strava time! Wasn’t about the time, just wanted to make it round without stopping which I did. Shattered.

Cannot beat cooking pork shoulder on the JoeTisserie over charcoal and applewood chips!

I last ran the Manchester 10K when I was a trainee solicitor 12 years ago. I did it in 55:10 then but very happy with my 57:38 today! Great to run with my Farleys Solicitors team. The atmosphere and support of those watching the race was amazing. Really kept me going!

A year today of being married to the absolute nugget that is @stefclarkx! Genuinely don’t have the words to describe how much she means to me and how grateful I am to her for giving me the life we have together and this is only the beginning! ❤️

Off to our first NCT class 👶🏼 Steph preparing like we are going to a garden party at Buckingham Palace. She’s made me have a shave so I give “the right impression”! Looking forward to learning lots about stuff I have no idea about plus apparently there will be biscuits! 🍪

Today at golf I birdied a par three, parred a par three, tripled bogeyed a par three, bogeyed a par four, double bogeyed six par fours, triple bogeyed three par fours, quadruple bogeyed two par fours, parred two par fives and triple bogeyed a par five. Utter chaos = 106*. ⛳️

Finished our last NCT class today. I’d recommend the course to other soon to be parents. You learn a lot and get to meet others going through exactly what you are! We got lucky with a great group of people who we will definitely stay in touch with. Defo bonus a few play golf ⛳️

Very, very impressed by Skof_Manchester last night. Undoubtedly worthy of a The MICHELIN Guide Star and future potential for 2 for sure! You can really feel the L'Enclume influences in the food and the staff (some of whom are ex L’enclume) were excellent! A must try in Manchester!

Yesterday I had the honour of walking my mum down the aisle to my sister’s wedding and delivering a “Brother of the Bride” speech. It was a proud day and I felt very lucky to have my beautiful (heavily pregnant) wife by my side. There really is nothing more important than family!
