Almonor played at FDU for current Iona head coach Tobin Anderson.

A Siena-Iona recruiting battle for 6-7 forward Ansley Almonor, who averaged 16.4 points and 5.1 rebounds and shot 39.4 percent from 3 for FDU this season. He had 23 points in a First Four win over Texas Southern last year, before FDU stunned Purdue in the first round.

Iona (D1) transfer Sultan Adewale will visit Albany on Friday 4/12, per source.

Dan Engelstad, former Southern Vermont head coach, leaves Mount St. Mary's for Syracuse to fill the vacancy left when Gerry McNamara took the Siena head-coaching job. Mount St. Mary's went 13-19 and lost guards Dakota Leffew and De'Shayne Montgomery into the portal.
