'Parasites aren’t just in our water supply – the industry is full of them.'

There isn't a single person in the country would disagree with any of that. Unless of course you happen to be the CEO of Severn Trent who made almost £13 million in the last 4 years.

The ICC prosecutor is right to issue arrest warrants for political leaders who engage in war crimes.

The global community must uphold international law.

Without these standards of decency & morality, the planet may rapidly descend into anarchy, never-ending wars, and barbarism.

When you are on the wrong side of the UN, the ICC, and an ICJ to which you are a signatory (and in the case of the US and the UK, a court that you established), you are dismantling your house with the very tools that built it. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

The UK must fully support the ICC’s action on these allegations of appalling crimes by the Hamas leadership and the Israeli government.

We must uphold the right of the ICC to bring those responsible to justice when international law is broken, without fear or favour.

The British Government says that the ICC adjudication is 'unhelpful'. You bet it is to all of those Ministers who have defended Israel at every turn. Civil servants need to keep records of what they have been told to do and what they are being told to do.

By all accounts Andrew Mitchell MP is lobbying hard to be the next UN Emergency Humanitarian Coordinator. So we will all be watching with great interest as they will be at the United Nations. Rt Hon Andrew Mitchell MP

It appears that Israel, Hamas and the US are the only ones refusing to accept the decision by the International Criminal Court.

Nurse should just sit the old dolt in front of the adjudication today delivered by the Prosecutor of the ICC. Nurse will need to make it clear to him that outbursts such as this may lead to further investigations into his own collusion with alleged war criminals.

As we could have predicted, the British government has failed the test, claiming the ICC doesn’t have jurisdiction. This is legal sophistry driven by the UK’s shameless support for Israel, whom it continues to arm. This amounts to complicity in the crimes that Israel now stands

My full interview with Karim A. A. Khan KC airs at 1pET/7pCET on @CNNi and later on PBS Amanpour and Company. In a world exclusive, he tells me why he’s seeking arrest warrants for Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on war crimes charges

Let us hope that this is the beginning of a legal process that will eventually hold Netanyahu & Gallant to account for a military campaign that was never really about military outcomes, but more about retribution and blind hatred of Palestinians.

Julian Assange wins right to appeal in extradition battle - good, but not there yet. More journalists should rally to his cause, and he should at the very least transferred to a less gruelling prison.

Big test for the British government now. Will they support the ICC indictments, as they are obliged to do under the Rome Statute which the UK helped write and of course agreed. Or will they let Israel off the hook?

This announcement from the International Criminal Court is immensely significant and will likely have immediate ramifications for those Governments, including our own, who have been providing cover and support for war crimes.
