You can't ban bad ideas...but Australia's nuclear power ban prevents some bad ideas sucking up community time and public money.

That's why it should stay.

:BREAKING: The Albanese government is about to shelve crucial environmental law reform, breaking a key election promise and caving to the fossil fuel lobby. We're livid. Here's our joint response with @lockthegate and AYCC 350.org.au/press-release/…

'It will be independent & transparent. It will have strong new powers to better protect the environment...'

Really? What about the Minister of the day having call-in powers to override a decision of the EPA & approve a project at any time prior to the final decision being made?

Let me got this right.
During the worst coral bleaching ever, the day before the extinction crisis inquiry hearings, the Government caves to the gas industry to keep Howard/ Abbott’s environment laws that itsown inquiry said were utterly broken.

When I saw this headline, I assumed “invasive weeds” meant introduced weed species, not native vegetation regrowth.

Silly me

So Danielle Wood and Productivity Commission think supporting Australian manufacturing is a bad because its government 'picking winners.'

So presumably they are outraged by $2 billion NT Middle Arm gas hub subsidy and other $11 b annual fossil fuel subsides!?

Tax changes made by the Howard government 25 years ago did not result in greater housing supply, because most speculators bought existing stock. Instead, they resulted in a huge cost to government and they widened inequality, writes Mike Seccombe. satpa.pe/J8smHkx

Fixing the PRRT could raise billions of dollars to support public services and invest in renewables.

As gas prices soared, the PRRT has failed to capture a fair share of revenue for Australians.

Australian governments have been picking losers for years, subsidies for fossil fuel projects like Darwin’s middle Arm, inland rail and the still under construction Kurri gas power station…but subsidising renewables is ‘new economics’! Such hilarious hypocrisy

Woodside’s massive Burrup Hub gas expansion will add over 5 billion tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions to our atmosphere and make SW WA even drier.

While at first glance the Opera House protest may look similar to the Port Arthur massacre, on closer inspection there are some key differences.

We've prepared this handy graph for Peter Dutton

Meanwhile, our governments are supporting Woodside’s Burrup Hub gas expansion that will add 5 BILLION tonnes of emissions to our atmosphere and make floods and storms like this more frequent and extreme.

Do our governments work for us, or Woodside?

Australian governments spend $11 billion per year subsidising fossil fuels. There was no complaint from Conservatives when Albo gave $1.5 billion of our money to the Middle Arm gas project… they dont mind if we pick losers, but picking winners is ‘new economics’
