I’m saddened to hear the news that HM King Charles III is facing further health challenges.

My thoughts and those of people across Wales will be with him and his family this evening.

But Christmas time is a reminder that this too will pass.

Very saddened to learn of the death of Alistair Darling.

As Chancellor, Alistair steered Britain’s economy with intellect, calmness and care.

And as a Scottish MP, Alistair was always keenly interested in Wales and our shared journey of devolution.

He will be dearly missed.
