The Green Port is moving to new heights and driving to zero! Zero-emissions that is, and we’re close. Our goal is to push 92, 71, & 98 percent reductions of key emissions to 100% and as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Green Port Policy, I am confident we will get there.

Engineering firms STAX and Seabound's Carbon Capture Showcase at Piers B & F at the Port of Long Beach today showed off their state-of-the-art harbor craft that captures emissions – like nitrogen oxides and diesel particulates – from vessels that cannot connect to shore power.

Congratulations to COSCO on the maiden voyage of the 16,000 TEU Carnation to Long Beach. This ship is the third of three dual methanol-fueled ships. We take pride in welcoming the ship to #POLB. Partners like COSCO are what make the Port of Long Beach the Port of Choice.

I joined state and regional leaders in Newport Beach to celebrate a "win-win" regional partnership. Newport Harbor will be dredged to improve safety and water quality, and the recycled material will be used in the #POLB's Pier G terminal expansion project.
