⚠️ BAD NEWS: The latest Wild Bird Indicator shows that almost ALL bird types are in decline, with many at risk of extinction.

The figures are clear. Not enough is being done to reverse the decline of our precious birds. (1/7) theguardian.com/environment/20…

Following the inspired reinvention of our woodlands as ‘temperate rainforests’, can we repackage our horribly-named ‘semi-natural grasslands’ to inspire people?

I had no idea this was a UK species! I saw this on the TV when I was a kid and was fascinated/totally grossed out by it! Amazing!

It has never been clearer that the government do not care about our future and are attempting to deliberately mislead the public with policies which will continue to increase equality in our society and fail to help those who most need it wildlifetrusts.org/blog/kathryn-b…

The PM started his speech yesterday by saying it was time to be 'honest' with the British people, and yet this tweet is all lies

NONE of these are current Govt policies

The PM is the nation

Good to see National Trust joining other environmental NGOs in speaking out about the current governments misleading and shortsighted announcements this week

After a summer of wildfire and floods, and records broken here in the UK, yesterday's announcement is barely fathomable. Future generations will ask why, after these stark signs, the government would put this country’s global leadership on climate change into reverse.

Amazing blue hazed meadow of Devil's-bit Scabious at Wilts Wildlife Trust Jone's Mill reserve near Pewsey. Peak meadow may be over but this lovely plant is only just hitting its prime and is a fantastic late season nectar and pollen resource for insects

Lovely to pop into Yorkshire Wildlife Trust Askham Bog on the way into York this afternoon. Amazingly species rich even though I've missed the peak I've never seen so much Marsh Pennywort, Yellow Loosestrife or Marsh Violets in one place!

Could we stop with the ‘grazing is good’ vs ‘grazing is bad’ arguments

Good or bad depends on the ecosystem & its history, the species & breeds, grazer density, their ranging ability, grazing season …

And the aim, eg storing carbon, specific biota, etc - it’s not all win-win

This kind of narrative pitting nature against food security is so common and misleading. It plays to people's fears and fails to acknowledge that these things are all interlinked. Without a healthy environment we won't have long-term food security.
