I love this opening title sequence from Borderline. It has Evil Rothko vibes. The jolts of colour are like electrical short circuits or misfiring synapses. It’s the perfect opener for a dystopian postmodern love story.

For a stupendous shot, see The Sympathizer Episode 3, and skip to 55:10. Park Chan Wook at his greatest. #cinema #beauty #storytelling

The Wolf of Wall Street (1929) is today believed to be a lost film. The only part of the movie known to still exist is this brief montage sequence created by Slavko Vorkapić

Q: Does it apply to foreign films filmed abroad? If so, we just won’t see those. Q: Wondering how you calculate the “100% tariff”? 100%*production budget spent overseas? I think that means that most films that need those credits and lower costs just won’t get made. Most will

I've been chipping away for a while on a Guardian Long Read about how Netflix and other streamers' algorithms and data are shaping cinema. I'm looking to chat to directors, producers and writers about their experiences with these companies - on or off the record. Anyone keen ?
