Decolonizing mental health would require dismantling most (all) of the system and starting over

Therapists must be aware that: •therapy can be harmful •bad therapy can be worse than no therapy •therapists can traumatize clients Yes, it is discouraging, but it is very real, and we, as a profession, must take it seriously.

I continue to be amazed at the number of marginalized people who think representation is enough when they obtain titles. When you get that seat, what are you doing to stop harm? What are you doing to ensure others who come behind you are free to share their views too?

A semi-spicy take I have about this profession is that a good therapist is not inherently a good supervisor. Good supervision is also highly lacking in this field altogether. Many eager, new therapists are hungry for the knowledge and direction that they are not receiving.

If you stood up for BLM protests, you should be standing against police brutality on university campuses. You should also be standing against this genocide. The interconnectedness is in our faces right now. Decolonization & abolition are needed now and globally.

Palestinian people are not and should not be treated as expendable for those of us in the US. The same applies to any oppressed group.
