A common minimizer statement is that COVID isn't a big deal anymore because 'we have the tools.' I'm sorry but we DON'T 'have the tools' unless critical public health resources like vaccines, masks, tests, and healthcare are free and accessible to EVERYONE.

Some COVID minimizers keep saying we can ignore COVID because we have vaccines. Not only is that untrue because layers of protections are most effective, but due to the end of the public health emergency, and greed of pharma companies, many people can't even afford the vaccines.

People who minimize COVID love saying 'it's endemic' to excuse their complicity. But while we are in a different phase of the pandemic than 2020, the truth is that COVID is still causing a high baseline of deaths, disability, & chronic illness that we should all refuse to ignore.

Yes. But COVID is still harming many. We need better vaccines, free N95s, clean air infrastructure, Long Covid treatments & more. Without these, we won’t be effective at mitigating future outbreaks. The best way to prevent the next pandemic is to deal with the current one.

“Ignoring COVID” means ignoring equity. Unless governments actually acknowledge that they still need to do much more to mitigate the harms of COVID, millions of people who are higher risk or have Long COVID will never be able to “ignore COVID.” That’s a travesty.

They are intentionally framing climate and COVID as problems for individuals to deal with to distract us from holding the powerful accountable.

One of the most harmful pieces of disinformation that the far right tricked liberals into believing is that you can't have fun or live a fulfilling life while also taking COVID precautions to protect yourself and others.

The headlines are 11 days apart. Every time they try to lie and declare COVID is over, this happens:

This isn't a climate solution. We can't 'you do you' ourselves out of the climate crisis.

We need federal standards that protect workers from the heat, and to keep fossil fuels in the ground.
