What a smart group of first graders! We learned about walruses so that we could write a persuasive letter to Pigeon in The Pigeon Wants a Puppy. Our job was to convince Pigeon not to get a walrus for a pet. Our reasons were strong, so we think we just saved a walrus!

I'm very excited to have been selected to teach virtually at Kharkiv Municipal Pedagogical Academy in Ukraine through the English Language Programs, U.S. Department of State. I'm doing orientation now, and will be busy getting prepared to teach four courses next month. 🙂 🇺🇦🇺🇸

Today one student chose the soldiers of Ukraine, who fight every day and night for their country, as her favorite superheroes. Another student chose an outstanding classmate. I'm very happy the program with the university students in Kharkiv will continue next semester. 🇺🇦🙂
