This morning, the center hosted students from University of Notre Dame in collaboration with Bethany Land Institute studying religion, peace and development in Africa. Their team was lead by Dr. Nicholas Mugabi from CHUSS and Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Katongole from University of Notre Dame.

As part of my Makerere University Rotary Peace Center Social Change Initiative, I mentor Youth-Led Peace Club members in promoting nonviolence in schools. At Champions Secondary & High School-Yaounde, our member led a campaign on "The Value of Tolerance". Youth-led peacebuilding = lasting change

As part of my Makerere University Rotary Peace Center Social Change Initiative & as an Ambassador for Institute for Economics & Peace, I engaged youth on the 8 Pillars of Positive Peace—key to building peaceful, resilient societies. This week, the center had some esteemed visitors. Peggy Pollard, of the International Students, and Mauri Okamoto-Kearney of the Cupertino Rotary Club were warmly received by Dr. Barigye.

Earlier in the week, the center had visitors in Jacqueline Asiimwe, and Catherine Mutesi Mugabo from CivSource Africa - who were received by Director Helen N. Nkabala & Dr Barigye. The main area of discussion was collaboration & synergies. Also in attendance was Moses Okech, a lecturer at Makerere University CAES.

We were honored to be hosted. What a blessing. We are looking forward to a fruitful partnership.
